Atsu’s One-Week observation draws Ghanaian football figures

Many Ghanaians, including football personalities and ex-teammates of the late Christian Atsu, on Saturday, gathered at Adjiringanor for his one-week observation.

The sad event was attended by a delegation from the Ghana Football Association (GFA), headed by president Kurt Okraku.

Notably, former GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi was present, as was Atsu’s first Black Stars coach, Kwasi Appiah.

Several former footballers, including Asamoah Gyan, Sulley Muntari, Richard Kingson, Baffour Gyan, Sam Johnson, Samuel Osei Kuffour, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, Godwin Attram, and others, were also in attendance. Muntari was visibly emotional and inconsolable at times as he mourned the loss of his former teammate.

During the event, Atsu’s family announced that he would be buried on March 17. Atsu tragically lost his life in the early February Turkey earthquake, and his passing has left a significant void in the Ghanaian football community.
